Officials Clinic Registration opens today - 2025-26 Season2025-08-01
Clinic/registration process for 2025-26 SeasonWe are quickly approaching the beginning of the 2025-26 Hockey Season. The first order of business is recertification/registration for the upcoming season. Registration opened today. I will have more information on the start up for the season next week.
Hockey Alberta has changed registration and clinic process this season:
1) A pre-requisite of an on-line course for all levels that must be taken prior to registering for a clinic – the requirement is every official must complete the course designated to their level or they will not be able to register for a clinic. There is a one-time fee for this pre-requisite. You MUST still take an Officials Clinic. Here is a link for the pre-requisite courses:

Below is important information regarding clinic registration and participation for Level 1, Returning Level 1, and Returning Level 2 officials.
In-Person Clinics for New Officials
All new officials, regardless of age, must attend an in-person clinic in their home community - see below. If this is not possible:
• Contact your local Referee-in-Chief (RIC) based on your residential address.
• Request approval to attend a clinic in another community.
Out-of-Community Clinic Requests If scheduling conflicts arise:
- Contact both:
- Your home community RIC, and the RIC of the community where you wish to attend.
- Both RICs must approve the request.
Note: RICs may decline out-of-community officials until all local officials have registered.
